We exist, we occupy the planet, and we all have as much right to be here as the next person. So why do we all get so hung up on what we do, who we are and what everyone else is doing? But doesn’t that all get a bit tiring after a while hearing the same old excuses…? If you are unhappy, fed up or bored, why look to other people’s lives for entertainment? Even if you do find pleasure there it will be short lived and before long you’ll be looking for the next thing to occupy your tired mind.
People have lost touch with who they are. They get stuck doing the same things day in day out. It becomes a routine. And all too often, the feelings, the boredom, the lack of energy and apathy that is borne from it become a habit too. If people were happier to be themselves and accept themselves for who they are, with their weaknesses seen as being as much a part of what makes them them, as the strengths of which they are usually so proud. People would not feel so much of a need to accumulate ‘things’ to give themselves status and social standing. The pressure to earn more money to spend on better cars and plasma tvs, high heels and designer clothes would not control people’s lives. People would be free to spend money on better quality food and give themselves a better level of health and more enjoyment from their food as a result. They would begin to rediscover the things that truly matter in life. Living.

Or watching bumblebees buzzing between flowers? Curling up in a favourite spot and reading a book. A place in the sun in the summer, a comfy perch by a fire in the winter. Campfires and singing with friends… playing along on a guitar or a drum. Sitting and chatting for hours on end about something… or about nothing. Making daisy chains. Collecting pine cones and conkers…
Funny how so many things sound like the sorts of things we would do as children. You would think we’d grow as adults, but so many people seem to contract. They have no worries. Not a care in the world. Maybe it’s because they’re innocent and growing up and becoming aware of the ways of the world are what take this away from us. Or maybe it’s what happiness is. Maybe we all need to learn to be children again…

Being outdoors is good for everyone. The belief that everyone needs fresh air is very true. Indoors can be fun and entertaining, but people aren't made to spend all day inside! We didn't even have computers until the eighties, so obviously it isn't natural to be on one all day long. Everyone needs to spend a little time outside. You don't need to take a run, or a day-long trip to the mountains, but just getting outdoors is very important. If you are an adventurous person, doing things like Dirt Riding and Rafting is a lot of fun. Rafting can be a great way to mix up a humdrum routine of office work during the week and gardening on the weekends. It can be a fun, and somewhat nerve Tracking experience if it is your first time. It is an awesome way to bring families together in an exiting environment as well.
If you are going to spend a day on the water, you have to be prepared however. If you don't prepare yourself in the right way, you may be stuck in the middle of a stream hungry, wet, and sun burnt. Always bring a lunch or snacks. Water activities burn a good amount of calories and you will be hungry come lunch time. Don't over estimate the fact that you are sitting down either. Your face and arms and part of your legs will all be exposed to the sun. If you don't apply and reapply sunscreen, you will be very pink.
Also, you will want to pack all of your things in a water proof container. A gallon sized plastic bag would work or you could go the extra mile and buy a water-proof bag.
If you don't feel like you would be comfortable in the water, there are other fun outdoor sports to get involved in. Hiking may sound extreme, but in reality everyone can do it. All you need is a place to hike, and some minor equipment. I suggest getting hiking shoes but sneakers would also work fine, Depending on what type of hiking you are planning on doing and how serious you are about it, you may want to invest in a hiking pack. If you are going to be hiking all day long, you will want a place to store plenty of water, snack and sunscreen. Also, always take a cell phone and back up phone with you on major hiking excursions. Outdoor adventure can have many different definitions, but for the purposes of this investigation it is defined as largely non-motorized in nature. It involves little or no alteration of the environment. Outdoor adventurers live close to the environment and accept natural forces as part of the experience. Appreciation of the natural world is a part of the experience. Outdoor adventures take place primarily, but not exclusively in remote backcountry, wilderness and undeveloped areas. Such adventures do not involve man-against-man as in warfare. They do, however, often pit men and women against natural forces. Outdoor adventures under this limited definition are done for the hunger of adventure and not to obtain or pave the way for wealth, to conquer foreign lands or to secure religious converts. Examples of outdoor adventure endeavors include: arctic exploration, sailing journeys, rock climbing, mountaineering, cross-country and back-country skiing, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater river running, and adventurous biking.
Modern Age of Adventure.
The term "Modern Age of Adventure" can be interpreted in different ways, but for the purposes of this study, it is defined as a period of time starting in the early to mid 1800s and extending to the present. From an historical perspective, the early and mid nineteenth century marks an important change in attitude about adventure and exploration. Not all, but most previous exploration was undertaken for exploitation. The Modern Age of Adventure begins when explorers went exploring for the sake of exploration—not for financial gain, not for colonial expansion, and not for the purpose of religious conversion. There always have been individuals in history who have been motivated purely by adventure, most certainly, but for the great bulk of explorers prior to the Modern Age of Adventure, other materialistic rewards loomed larger. The early 1800s represent a watershed, a turning of the tide.

Through safety talks, you can tell workers about health and safety requirements for the tools, equipment, materials and procedures they use every day or for particular jobs. Each safety talk will take about five minutes to present. Why give a Safety Talk? In delivering safety talks, your objective is to help workers RECOGNIZE and CONTROL hazards in the workplace.Safety talks demonstrate the commitment of employers and workers to health and safety on the job.
You give safety talks because you are responsible for advising workers about any existing or possible danger to their health and safety. ou may be a supervisor, a health and safety representative, a member of the joint health and safety committee or anyone with health and safety duties.
What makes a Safety Talk work?
Choose talks that are relevant to the work being done. For example: the time to give a talk on temporary heating is before the cold season begins. Deliver the talk where it will be most appropriate. That could be the job office, out on the site or near the tools and equipment you are talking about. Introduce the subject clearly. Let workers know exactly what you are going to talk about and why it’s important to them. Refer to the safety talk for information, but, wherever possible, use your own words. Connect key points to things your crew is familiar with on the project.
Pinpoint hazards. Talk about what may happen. Use information from the safety talk to explain how to control or prevent these hazards. Wherever possible, use real tools, equipment, material and job site situations to demonstrate key points.
Ask for questions. Answer to the best of your knowledge. Get more information where necessary. Ask workers to demonstrate what they have learned.
Keep a record of each talk delivered. Include date, topic and names of attendees.

A partnership agreement allows you to structure your relationship with your partners in a way that suits your business. You and your partners can establish the shares of profits (or losses) each partner will take, the responsibilities of each partner, what will happen to the business if a partner leaves and other important guidelines.

You and your partners may have different ideas about how the money should be divided up and distributed, and each of you will have different financial needs, so this is an area to which you should pay particular attention.

Apabila efluen dibuang langsung ke suatu perairan akibatnya menganggu seluruh keseimbangan ekologik dan bahkan dapat menyebabkan kematian ikan dan biota perairan lainnya.
2. Limbah Industri Kimia & Bahan Bangunan
Industri kimia seperti alkohol dalam proses pembuatannya membutuhkan air sangat besar, mengakibatkan pula besarnya limbah cair yang dikeluarkan kelingkungan sekitarnya. Air limbahnya bersifat mencemari karena didalamnya terkandung mikroorganisme, senyawa organik dan anorganik baik terlarut maupun tersuspensi serta senyawa tambahan yang terbentuk selama proses permentasi berlangsung.
Industri ini mempunyai limbah cair selain dari proses produksinya juga, air sisa pencucian peralatan, limbah padat berupa onggokan hasil perasan, endapan Ca SO4, gas berupa uap alkohol. kategori limbah industri ini adalah llimbah bahan beracun berbahayan (B3) yang mencemari air dan udara.
Gangguan terhadap kesehatan yang dapat ditimbulkan efek bahan kimia toksik :
a. Keracunan yang akut, yakni keracunan akibat masuknya dosis tertentu kedalam tubuh melalui mulut, kulit, pernafasan dan akibatnya dapat dilihat dengan segera, misalnya keracunan H2S, Co dalan dosis tinggi. Dapat menimbulkan lemas dan kematian. Keracunan Fenal dapat menimbulkan sakit perut dan sebagainya.
b. Keracunan kronis, sebagai akibat masuknya zat-zat toksis kedalam tubuh dalam dosis yang kecil tetapi terus menerus dan berakumulasi dalam tubuh, sehingga efeknya baru terasa dalam jangka panjang misalnya keracunan timbal, arsen, raksa, asbes dan sebagainya.
Industri fermentasi seperti alkohol disamping bisa membahayakan pekerja apabila menghirup zat dalam udara selama bekerja apabila tidak sesuai dengan Threshol Limit Valued (TLV) gas atau uap beracun dari industri juga dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan masyarakat sekitar.

Sektor sandang dan kulit seperti pencucian batik, batik printing, penyamakan kuit dapat mengakibatkan pencemaran karena dalam proses pencucian memerlukanair sebagai mediumnya dalam jumlah yang besar. Proses ini menimbulkan air buangan (bekas Proses) yang besar pula, dimana air buangan mengandung sisa-sisa warna, BOD tinggi, kadar minyak tinggi dan beracun (mengandung limbah B3 yang tinggi).
4. Limbah Industri Logam & Ekektronika.
Bahan buangan yang dihasilkan dari industr besi baja seperti mesin bubut, cor logam dapat menimbulkan pemcemaran lingkungan. Sebagian besar bahan pencemarannya berupa debu, asap dan gas yang mengotori udarasekitarnya. Selain pencemaran udara oleh bahan buangan, kebisingan yang ditimbulkan mesin dalam industri baja (logam) mengganggu ketenangan sekitarnya. kadar bahan pencemar yang tinggi dan tingkat kebisingan yang berlebihan dapat mengganggu kesehatan manusia baik yang bekerja dalam pabrik maupun masyarakat sekitar.
Walaupun industri baja/logam tidak menggunakan larutan kimia, tetapi industri ini memcemari air karena buanganya dapat mengandung minyak pelumas dan asam-asam yang berasal dari proses pickling untukmembersihkan bahan plat, sedangkan bahan buangan padat dapat dimanfaatkan kembali.
Bahaya dari bahan-bahan pencemar yang mungkin dihasilkan dari proses-proses dalam industri besi-baja/logam terhadap kesehatan yaitu :
a. Debu, dapat menyebabkan iritasi, sesak nafas
b. Kebisingan, mengganggu pendengaran, menyempitkan pembuluh darah, ketegangan otot, menurunya kewaspadaan, kosentrasi pemikiran dan efisiensi kerja.
c. Karbon Monoksida (CO), dapat menyebabkan gangguan serius, yang diawali dengan napas pendek dan sakit kepala, berat, pusing-pusing pikiran kacau dan melemahkan penglihatan dan pendengaran. Bila keracunan berat, dapat mengakibatkan pingsan yang bisa diikuti dengan kematian.
d. Karbon Dioksida (CO2), dapat mengakibatkan sesak nafas, kemudian sakit kepala, pusing-pusing, nafas pendek, otot lemah, mengantuk dan telinganya berdenging.
e. Belerang Dioksida (SO2), pada konsentrasi 6-12 ppm dapat menyebabkan iritasi pada hidung dan tenggorokan, peradangan lensa mata (pada konsentrasi 20 ppm), pembengkakan paru-paru/celah suara.
f. Minyak pelumas, buangan dapat menghambat proses oksidasi biologi dari sistem lingkungan, bila bahan pencemar dialirkan keseungai, kolam atau sawah dan sebagainya.
Asap, dapat mengganggu pernafasan, menghalangi pandangan, dan bila tercampur dengan gas CO2, SO2, maka akan memberikan pengaruh yang nenbahayakan seperti yang telah diuraikan diatas.

POTENSI DAN KETERBATASAN ?
Pengantar :
Berbekal dari pengertian bahwa positif lawannya negatif, seringkali ada persepsi kalau Kekuatan lawannya Kelemahan, lebih celaka lagi bahwa sejak 30 tahun yang lalu kita dijejali oleh konsep SWOT didalam membuat perencanaan organisasi sehingga hampir semua orang dewasa yang sudah bekerja mengenali istilah ini dan berbagai konsultan membuat versi lain yang prinsipnya sama saja yaitu TOWS (agar persepsinya "menarik") dan ada juga yang hampir benar seperti SLOT (dengan mengganti Weakness menjadi Limitation).
Dalam konteks tersebut diatas, tidak heran kalau ada persepsi bahwa kalau bisa "memperbaiki" kelemahan maka akan timbul kekuatan dan itu juga sebabnya pada hampir semua organisasi, butir butir kelemahan menjadi perhatian utama untuk dijadikan masukkan didalam perencanaan untuk "diperbaiki" yang dijabarkan dengan detil didalam "rencana tindakan" yang istilah kerennya "Action Planning".
Jarang sekali ada organsasi yang justru berfokus pada "kekuatannya" didalam membuat "action planning".
Yang menarik adalah di amerika ada study tentang butir butir rencana tindakan hasil analisis SWOT di banyak perusahaan. Ternyata lebih dari 50% butir-butir tersebut selalu timbul dari tahun ke tahun dan ini membuktikan bahwa tidak sedikit kelemahan yang tidak bisa diperbaiki.
Apa ada yang salah?
Saya menemukan tiga hal penting dalam menjelaskan hal tersebut diatas
Pertama : persepsi bahwa dengan memperbaiki kelemahan maka akan mendapatkan kekuatan
Kedua : persepsi bahwa manusia bisa memperbaiki segala macam kelemahan
Ketiga : pengertian yang salah tentang arti kelemahan
Pertama : Memperbaiki kelemahan akan mendapatkan kekuatan.
Kalau kita menganggap bahwa kekuatan dan kelemahan berada pada kutub yang berlawanan, maka memperbaiki kelemahan hanya akan mengakibatkan hilangnya kelemahan yang posisinya ditengah tengah atau netral dan ini bukan berarti menjadi kekuatan
Kedua : Manusia bisa memperbaiki segala macam kelemahan.
Obsesi manusia untuk memperbaiki kelemahan merupakan peluang yang dimanfaatkan oleh Self Help Industries yang menyebabkan orang orang di Amerika menghamburkan milyaran dollar dengan hasil yang sangat amat tidak memadai.
Persepsi bahwa manusia bisa berubah menyebabkan pelatihan dan seminar tentang Individual Development laku keras akan tetapi kita semua tahu bahwa pelatihan pelatihan semacam ini hanya membawa dampak beberapa minggu saja, bahkan pelatihan Asia Works yang dianggap paling hebatpun tahu kalau manusia itu seperti bandul yang sewaktu waktu akan kembali keposisi semula.
Ada pendapat bahwa manusia bisa berobah kalau ada krisis
Tetapi apa yang terjadi lihat komentar dibawah ini:

Bayangkan saja, ancaman kematian yang merupakan krisis yang paling hebatpun sulit membuat manusia berubah.
Jadi apa betul manusia tidak bisa memperbaiki kelemahannya?
Kita harus bisa memilah milah yang dimaksud dengan kelemahan
Kalau kelemahan tersebut terkait dengan:
Skill (Keterampilan – def: kemampuan melakukan langkah langkah yang benar dari suatu kegiatan).............maka biasanya dengan berlatih orang bisa menjadi semakin terampil
Knowledge (Pengetahuan)... maka dengan belajar orang bisa semakin tahu
Values (Tatanilai)...... tidak sedikit contoh orang yang tadinya penjahat menjadi orang baik
Behaviour (Perilaku/Tingkah laku).... supir angkot di cimindi yang sulit diatur tiba tiba menjadi sangat teratur setelah menjadi supir TransJakarta (Busway)
Jadi ada kelemahan yang bisa diperbaiki tetapi ada juga kelemahan yang tidak bisa diperbaiki dan ratusan tahun yang lalu sudah ada do’a yang namanya Serenity Prayer yang menyatakan keinginan besar untuk bisa mengetahui mana yang bisa diperbaiki mana yang tidak bisa diperbaiki:
“ God, grant me Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and Wisdom to know the difference”
Yang dapat diperbaiki dengan mudah adalah Skill yang tidak membutuhkan bakat tertentu dan Knowledge
Yang juga bisa diubah adalah Behaviour yang didukung oleh bakat bakat dominannya, karena kalau tidak, maka akan membuat seseorang menjadi stress berat
Yang juga bisa diperbaiki adalah Values
Dan ini yang penting :
Pada umumnya hal hal yang terkait dengan personality traits seseorang, sangat sulit diubah bahkan tidak bisa berubah
Ketiga : Pengertian yang salah tentang Kelemahan
Sebenarnya akan lebih jelas apabila kita menambah istilah kekuatan dan Kelemahan dengan Potensi dan Keterbatasan agar pengertiannya menjadi lebih gamblang sbb:
Allah memberikan Potensi dan Keterbatasan kepada setiap makhluknya sedang Kekuatan dan kelemahan adalah merupakan pilihan dan upaya manusia atas potensi dan keterbatasannya masing masing.
- Manusia diberikan potensi akal dan keterbatasan terbang maupun bernafas didalam air
- Burung diberikan potensi terbang dan keterbatasan berlari
- Ikan diberikan potensi bernafas di air dan keterbatasan memanjat
- Cacing diberikan potesi menembus , hidup didalam tanah dan keterbatasan berlari
Kalau makhluk makhluk tersebut diatas berusaha melatih potensinya maka akan timbul kekuatan,
- Kalau manusia berlatih dan belajar dengan menggunakan akalnya maka kekuatannya akan timbul
- Kalau burung berlatih terbang maka kekuatannya timbul
akan tetapi kalau makhluk tersebut memaksa bertindak dengan menggunakan keterbatasannya, maka akan timbul kelemahan.
- Kalau manusia memaksa untuk bernafas didalam air dia akan kelemahannya timbul
- Kalau cacing berusaha untuk berlari maka kelemahannya timbul
- Kalau ikan berusaha untuk terbang maka kelemahannya tombul
Dengan begitu, kalau kita menggali Potensi dan Keterbatasan kita maka akan jelas bahwa rencana tindakannya akan lebih berfokus kepada mengasah potesi menjadi kekuatan lalu menggunakan kekuatan tersebut untuk maju kedepan ketimbang berusaha memperbaiki keterbatasan ataupun memaksa bertindak berdasarkan keterbatasan.
- Kalau manusia ingin terbang, maka gunakan akalnya untuk membuat kapal terbang
- Kalau manusia ingin menyelam maka gunakan akalnya untuk membuat alat penyelam
Jadi kalau
“Focus on your Strength and manage around your Weakness”
( Fokus pada Kekuatan dan siasati Kelemahan)
Maka Abah Rama bilang
” Fokus pada Kekuatan siasati Keterbatasan”
