404 Error on Custom Domain with Blog
After the experience and find ways, Finally I found the solution and a tricks of what I experienced on my blog. I find this solution on knol.google.com. Here now I will try and share through this blog.
Step 1 go to this tool at http://www.network-tools.com and check your DNS records. Select DNS Records, put your domain name into the box w/o the www and click on Submit. The changes you make to fix the 404 problem will depend on the A records you see.
Step2 To access your Advanced DNS settings, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your account at https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/your_domain.com/DomainSettingsAdvancedDns. Be sure to replace 'your_domain.com' with your actual domain name.
- To make changes to your DNS settings, sign into your DNS console with the login information provided on this page.
When you access Advanced DNS settings, you'll be directed away from Google, and to the domain registration partner that registered your domain name. This is currently available in English only.
Note: If you didn't purchase a domain name while signing up for your Google Apps account, you won't have Advanced DNS settings in your control panel.
Step3 4. Make these changes to you’re a records:
4a. If you see the A record containing 66.249.81.121,or 64.233.179.121 remove it then click save.
4b. Replace them with these A Records
Host name ip address
@ 216.239.32.21
@ 216.239.34.21
@ 216.239.36.21
@ 216.239.38.21
ghs.l.google.com 74.125.43.121
www. CNAME ghs.google.com.
ghs.google.com. CNAME ghs.l.google.com.
Step4 5. Go to your Blog – Settings => Publishing
5b. Type the captcha in the box
Step6 5c. Then Switch to: click on Custom Domain. This will switch your blogspot url back to your custom domain
5d. Type the captcha letter in the box click save
Step7. 6 Test your www.mydomain.com it should work.
Step 8 and if you get this error Another Blog already hosted at this address go to this url for the fix
Step 9 If you get another Blog already hosted at this address you might try do this go back to your Google Apps Control panel and check your Web Mapping address in your Google Apps site
- Access the Site Settings screen in the Google Apps control panel
- Select the "Web Address mapping" tab
- If you see a Web Address mapping of www then delete it.
- Then Go back to your blog control panel and enter your www.domain-name.com
- Then enter the captcha then click save.
- The Test your domain for your blog.
Step 9a go back to your Bloggger setting and then try changed it again. to see if it work.
Step 10 Custom-domains-dns-and-latency
If you see this error Blogs may not be hosted at naked domains
